Welcome (back) to the Moulin Rouge! Aaron Tveit, who originated the lead role of Christian in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, will return to the Broadway production for 15 performances only, playing Christian from August 18-29.

As previously announced, the show will close at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on August 30, and current cast member Christian Douglas will return as Christian for the final performance.

Tveit won the 2020 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for originating the role of Christian in Moulin Rouge!, and he returned for two other stints in the Broadway production since his initial departure in 2022. He most recently starred on Broadway in Chess earlier this year, and additional credits include Next to Normal, Catch Me If You Can, and Wicked on Broadway and Grease Live!, Schmigadoon!, Gossip Girl, and BrainDead on TV.

Based on Baz Luhrmann's award-winning film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the writer Christian as he falls into a star-crossed romance with the title nightclub's star showgirl, Satine. The show won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and is set to a score of pop music hits spanning seven decades.
