
Aaron Tveit, JoJo to return to 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' on Broadway
Aaron Tveit is a Broadway performer best known for musicals such as Wicked and Next to Normal, while JoJo made her Broadway debut as Satine last summer.
Welcome back to the Moulin Rouge! Tony Award winner Aaron Tveit and pop star Joanna "JoJo" Levesque will return to Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, starring as Christian and Satine at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre for a 12-week engagement from July 23 to October 13.
Tveit — a Broadway veteran known for Wicked, Next to Normal — and more played Christian in the original Broadway cast of Moulin Rouge! in 2019, winning a Tony Award in 2021 for his performance.
JoJo earned audience acclaim for her first limited run as Satine last summer, which marked her Broadway debut. She is best known for her music career, with her most famous songs including "Leave (Get Out)" and "Too Little, Too Late."

The pair will respectively replace current cast members Derek Klena and Courtney Reed, who play their final performances on July 23. Continuing cast members include Austin Durant as Harold Zidler, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Sophie Carmen-Jones as Nini.
Based on Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the forbidden romance between writer Christian and showgirl Satine in the title Parisian nightclub. The show features more than 40 pop songs from the 1940s to the 2010s, and it is the winner of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
