Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway Information

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child returns to Broadway at the Lyric Theatre, now performed in one part. Get Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets on Broadway now.

Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated play in recent Broadway history, the nine-time Olivier Award-winning West End hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has finally made the trip across the pond and has opened its doors to crowds of excited muggles in New York City.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the official eighth story in the Harry Potter franchise and the first to be officially presented on stage. The events of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child take place nineteen years after those of the final J.K. Rowling novel "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The production features dazzling illusions, bringing the Wizarding World to life before your very eyes. The original Broadway cast included seven of the original London stars.

We are obliged to #KeepTheSecrets in terms of the jaw-dropping stage magic, courtesy of the genius of Jamie Harrison, but we can assure you there won't be any disappointments. From Steven Hoggett's spell-binding choreography, which additionally helps to render scene changes and character entrances seamless, to John Tiffany's wildly innovative directorial choices in scenes involving the Hogwarts Express or the events of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is unapologetically and masterfully a piece of theatre.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
