Boy George to return to 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' on Broadway

The Grammy Award-winning artist will play a limited engagement in the Tony Award-winning Broadway show at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre beginning in March 2025.

Welcome back to the Moulin Rouge! Boy George will return to the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, playing a limited engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from March 28 to May 25, 2025.

Boy George is best known as the lead singer of Culture Club, the Grammy Award-winning '80s band known for songs like "Karma Chameleon." When Boy George first joined Moulin Rouge! The Musical from February to May 2024, the show marked Boy George's return to Broadway for the first time in 20 years, after he made his debut with the musical Taboo in 2003. He created the concept, music, and lyrics for the show, which he also starred in.

He will now return to the role of emcee Harold Zidler, scheduled to appear at all performances except Tuesday nights. The current Moulin Rouge! The Musical Broadway cast includes John Cardoza as Christian, Solea Pfeiffer as Satine, Robert Petkoff as Harold Zidler, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke, Pepe Muñoz as Santiago, Sophie Carmen-Jones as Nini, and Hailee Kaleem Wright as the Satine alternate.

Based on the hit Baz Luhrmann film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the star-crossed romance between the writer Christian and courtesan Satine in the title Paris nightclub. The show won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and features more than 40 pop songs from the 1940s to the 2010s.
