The full reopening cast for Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway has been confirmed, ahead of performances beginning next month. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from September 24, with most of the Broadway cast returning to the show from March 2020.

Natalie Mendoza will take over the role of Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Satine was previously played by Karen Olivo, who is nominated for a Tony Award for her performance. Mendoza's theatre credits include Arachne in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway and Miss Saigon in the West End.

In 2001, Mendoza starred in the original Moulin Rouge film, playing the can-can dancer China Doll. Two decades later, she'll now star in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Speaking about her casting, Baz Luhrmann said: "[Mendoza] has now blossomed into the lead in our Broadway production. I could not be more thrilled that Natalie will be lowered in that glorious swing as Broadway's Sparkling Diamond."

The full Moulin Rouge! The Musical cast includes Aaron Tveit as Christian, Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler, Sahr Ngaujah as Toulouse-Lautrec, Robyn Hurder as Nini, Ricky Rojas as Santiago and Tam Mutu as The Duke of Monroth.

The ensemble cast is completed by Jacqueline B. Arnold, Holly James, Jeigh Madjus, Joe Beauregard, Keely Beirne, Giovanni Bonaventura, Olutayo Bosede, Maya Bowles, Kyle Brown, Sam J. Cahn, Bobby Daye, Mia DeWeese, Karli Dinardo, Tilly Evans-Krueger, Aaron C. Finley, Bahiyah Hibah, Ericka Hunter, Cameron Mitchell Jackson, Tasia Jungbauer, Jose-Luis Lopez Jr., Reed Luplau, Kara Menendez, Kaitlin Mesh, Fred Odgaard, Dylan Paul, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Benjamin Rivera, Julius Anthony Rubio and Brandon Stonestreet.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a stage musical based on Baz Luhrmann's film of the same name, following the lives that collide at the Parisian cabaret. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is nominated for 14 Tony Awards, with the Tony Awards taking place on 26 September.

In a five star review for New York Theatre Guide, Mark Shenton said Moulin Rouge! The Musical "[transports audiences to] another world occurs even before the show begins... In a crowded Broadway market place, Moulin Rouge is a show that has it all: it's not just 70 songs that are rolled into one show, but also a canvas of spectacle and emotion that isn't just a floorshow but left me floored with its sublime artistry."

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is by John Logan and is directed by Alex Timbers. Scenic design is by Derek McLane, with costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Justin Townsend and sound design by Peter Hylenski.
