Blue Man Group Information
The global phenomenon Blue Man Group continues its long-running New York residence at off-Broadway's Astor Place Theatre. Get Blue Man Group tickets in New York now.
Since November 1991, the curious blue men have entertained New York crowds with perhaps the most unique, wild, and wacky show to have ever graced the New York stage. During productions, the blue men are mute and appear in groups of three. They are beings from outer space with little knowledge of Earth, and audiences get to watch them explore in real time. The blue men unlock new, creative possibilities for things in our ordinary life, from creating music with PVC pipes to science experiments with everyday objects. The "instruments" and action change often, and you won't see the world the same way again.
What is the Blue Man Group?
The Blue Man Group formed in 1987 by Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton, who painted their faces blue and walked in a "funeral" parade for the end of the 1980s. The concept developed into a full-fledged show, and now, Blue Man Group has continuously running shows in NYC, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas and Berlin — there are certainly no signs of them slowing down. Blue Man Group opened in New York in 1991 and still plays the same venue, the Astor Place Theatre, it did then, making Blue Man Group one of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows.
Blue Man Group off Broadway received both the Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. The Blue Man Group is also a Grammy nominee for its first instrumental album, Audio.
