Ilya is confident and forthright while Shane is shy and reserved. Naturally, they fall in love, but can their family, team, and rabid fandom accept their love?
The TV show has become a global phenomenon, and now Broadway actors get their chance to star in a satire... even if they thought they were auditioning for Season 2. Featuring Jay Armstrong Johnson (as Ilya Rozanov) and Jimin Moon (as Shane Hollander), Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody also features a bop-heavy score written by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Dylan MarcAurele.
Come to teh rink where the ice gets hot: expect silent, sexy stares, expect time jumps that make no sense, and, above all, expect a very important character — "Ilya's Ass." It's all dramaturgically correct: the director, Alan Kliffer, is originally from Canada. He also put Asylum NYC Chelsea on the map as a comedy center after serving as its artistic director for five years.

The lyrics are wonderful and straightforward!
So super fun! So creative and hysterical! All the actors were great, even (especially) the understudies!
Felt like a 75 minute SNL skit written by someone who watched Heated Rivalry once while scrolling on their phone. I enjoyed the actors performances and the score, which echoed the score in the show. But the show's understanding of the characters in Heated Rivalry was shallow which disappointed me and made this feel like a bit of a cash grab. Would only recommend this to a very casual fan.
