Teenagers Melchior, Wendla, Moritz, and their friends are coming of age with no guidance from the adults in their lives. As they search for answers and understanding, they form beautiful, yet sometimes tragic, connections. The teens' confusion, anger, and hope pours out through a stirring contemporary rock score, whose original cast album went on to win a Grammy Award.
The show debuted on Broadway in 2006, winning eight Tony Awards and making stars of leads Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, and John Gallagher Jr. Later revived on Broadway with Deaf West Theatre, and in the West End, where it won the Olivier for Best New Musical.
