Somewhere I Can Scream
Somewhere I Can Scream is at the Players Theatre from July 8 - 25. Book Somewhere I Can Scream tickets in New York now.
After graduating from a seminary boarding school, in the Roaring Twenties, Theora Hix was ready to experience all that life had to offer — pursuing a medical degree in a man’s world, drugs, sex, freedom. Her lover, Dr. James Snook, was an Olympic gold medalist and professor of veterinary science. Married with a young daughter, Snook was a pillar of the community; some thought of him as the local hero.
Their clandestine affair began when he drove Theora home from work on a rainy afternoon. After three years, the couple had a drug-fueled argument that turned violent. Snook was convicted of first-degree murder and became the only Olympic gold medalist in American history to be put to death in the electric chair.
Was it murder or self-defense that led to Theora’s death? Was Snook truly guilty? Witness the play and you be the judge.
