Jane Krakowski to star in ‘Oh, Mary!’ on Broadway
The Emmy Award-nominated and Tony-winning star of 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and more will play a limited run in Cole Escola's hit comedy play this fall.
Tony Award winner and Emmy nominee Jane Krakowski will star in the title role of Oh, Mary! on Broadway, playing a limited engagement from October 14 to December 7 at the Lyceum Theatre.
Krakowski is best known for her four-time Emmy-nominated performance as Jenna Maroney on NBC’s 30 Rock and for starring as Jacqueline White in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, for which she also earned an Emmy nod. A stage veteran, Krakowski won a Tony for her Broadway performance in Nine, earned nominations for Nine and She Loves Me, and won an Olivier for starring in Guys and Dolls in London’s West End.
Krakowski will replace current star Jinkx Monsoon, who plays her final performance on September 28 alongside Kumail Nanjiani as Mary's Husband, Michael Urie as Mary's Teacher, Jenn Harris as Mary's Chaperone, and original cast member Tony [Macht] as Mary's Husband's Assistant.
Original Off-Broadway and Broadway company member Hannah Solow will play the title role from September 30 through October 12, and replacement casting for the other four current cast members has yet to be announced.
Written and directed, respectively, by Tony Award winners Cole Escola and Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! wackily imagines former first lady Mary Todd Lincoln as a repressed, alcoholic woman with a burning passion for cabaret. After premiering off Broadway to acclaim in January 2024, the show transferred to Broadway in June of that year, earning five total Tony nominations and becoming a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
“Thank you, Cole, for giving us this madcap work of genius, directed to perfection by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton,” said Krakowski in a statement. “I am so honored to slip into the bratty curls previously worn by (my Tony Award winning zaddy) Cole Escola, (my sister wife) Betty Gilpin, (my comedy brother) Tituss Burgess, and (mother) Jinkx Monsoon.
"From the first time I watched Oh, Mary! downtown I thought, ‘how do I get myself on that stage in this role?’ After watching Cole take the NYC taxi ride uptown and now worshipping it four times more, I made it! Oh, Mary! is a comedic work of genius that ends up in my dream version of 7 minutes in heaven.”
Oh, Mary! tickets are now on sale through July 5, 2026.
