Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Urie, Jenn Harris to star in ‘Oh, Mary!’ on Broadway
The actors will join the previously announced Jinkx Monsoon in the hit comedy play, replacing original cast members Conrad Ricamora and James Scully, respectively.
Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Urie, and Jenn Harris will be the newest stars of Oh, Mary! on Broadway, beginning performances at the Lyceum Theatre on August 4.
Nanjiani is a stand-up comedian and actor best known for his performances in Silicon Valley, Welcome to Chippendales (Emmy Award nomination), The Twilight Zone (Emmy nomination), and The Big Sick, which he also co-wrote, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He now makes his Broadway debut with Oh, Mary!
Urie is best known for his TV roles in Ugly Betty, Younger, and Shrinking. He last performed on Broadway as Prince Dauntless in Once Upon a Mattress, and other Broadway credits include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Torch Song, and Chicken & Biscuits. He won two Drama Desk Awards for his Off-Broadway performances in The Temperamentals and Buyer & Cellar.
Harris is known for her appearances in the film American Fiction and in the TV series 30 Rock and High Maintenance.
In Oh, Mary!, Nanjiani will star as Mary’s Husband, Urie as Mary’s Teacher, and Harris as Mary's Chaperone opposite Jinkx Monsoon in the title role of Mary Todd Lincoln; she also begins performances August 4. The play by Cole Escola, who won a 2025 Tony Award for also originating the role of Mary, follows the first lady in the weeks leading up to her husband’s assassination, when she desperately dreams of becoming a cabaret star.
Original cast members Conrad Ricamora, a 2025 Tony nominee for his performance as Mary’s Husband, James Scully, as Mary’s Teacher, and Bianca Leigh, as Mary’s Chaperone, will depart Oh, Mary! on August 2.
Original cast member Tony Macht will continue in the cast as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant. All five cast members are scheduled to depart the show on September 28.
