New casting set for 'Oh, Mary!' on Broadway

Two returning cast members will play a limited run starting in September, and two new actors will join Jane Krakowski in the show from October.

Four new cast members have been named for Oh, Mary! on Broadway, joining the company at the Lyceum Theatre later this fall.

Original cast member James Scully and former cast member Phillip James Brannon will return to the roles of Mary’s Teacher and Mary’s Husband, respectively, from September 30 to October 12. They will star opposite the previously announced Hannah Solow as Mary.

Beginning October 14, Cheyenne Jackson and Tony Award nominee John-Andrew Morrison will play Mary’s Teacher and Mary’s Husband, respectively. They will star opposite the previously announced Emmy Award nominee and Tony winner Jane Krakowski as Mary.

Current cast members Jinkx Monsoon (Mary), Kumail Nanjiani (Mary's Husband), and Michael Urie (Mary's Teacher) depart Oh, Mary! on September 28. Jenn Harris (Mary's Chaperone) and original cast member Tony [Macht] (Mary's Husband's Assistant) round out the current cast.

Oh, Mary! centers on a repressed, alcoholic version of former first lady Mary Todd Lincoln who dreams of an escape from her loveless marriage by pursuing a career in cabaret. Written and directed, respectively, by Tony Award winners Cole Escola and Sam Pinkleton, the comedy play premiered off Broadway in 2024, transferring to Broadway later that year. In 2025, the show earned five Tony nominations and was named a Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist.
