Cole Escola to star in new Off-Broadway comedy 'Oh, Mary!'

The actor, writer, and comedian created and performs in this new show about Mary Todd Lincoln, making their Off-Broadway debut at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Oh, Cole! Search Party star Cole Escola will make their Off-Broadway debut in their new show Oh, Mary!, running at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from January 26 to March 24. Opening night is February 8.

Escola wrote and stars in Oh, Mary!, which looks at the life of Mary Todd Lincoln "through the lens of an idiot." In the weeks before her husband Abraham Lincoln's assassination, she faces suppressed desire, alcoholism, and longing.

Escola is best known for their work on various comedy TV shows, most notably starring as Chip in season four of the HBO Max show Search Party. They also have had recurring performance and voiceover roles on Big Mouth, Difficult People, and more, and written for shows including The Other Two, Difficult People, and Hacks.

Additional cast members alongside Escola have yet to be announced.

Sam Pinkleton directs Oh, Mary!, which also features scenic design by dots, lighting design by Cha See, costume design by Holly Pierson, sound design and original music by Daniel Kluger, sound design by Drew Levy, and musical arrangements by David Dabbon.
