What time are the Tony Awards?

The 2023 Tony Awards were originally set to take place at 8 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT. The broadcast was set to take place on the CBS television network and the Paramount+ streaming platform, with an extra hour of exclusive pre-show content streamed from 7-8 p.m. ET/4-5 p.m. PT on Pluto TV. However, the broadcast will take place in a modified format on June 11 this year amid an ongoing writers' strike.

How can I watch the Tony Awards?

The status of the 2023 Tonys broadcast is to be determined. The ceremony will be televised live on June 11, but amid an ongoing strike by the Writers' Guild of America, the show will proceed in a modified format with only awards presentations and show performances, but no original scripted content. The exact details of the broadcast have yet to be determined.

Where are the Tony Awards taking place?

For the first time in the ceremony's history, the Tony Awards will take place at the United Palace in 2023. This venue is located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood and is the borough's fourth-largest performance venue at 3,400 seats. The United Palace opened in 1930 and now presents a variety of concerts, film screenings, and other arts and cultural events.

The usual home of the Tony Awards in recent years has been Radio City Music Hall. The awards have been held there from 1997 to 2010, and again from 2013 to 2015, 2017 to 2019, and in 2022.

What shows are eligible for the Tony Awards in 2023?

This year's Tony Awards recognized shows that opened between May 5, 2022 and April 27, 2023. Thirty-eight shows are eligible for the 2023 Tony Awards, including 16 new plays, nine new musicals, seven play revivals, and six musical revivals. All the eligible shows are listed below.

Who is nominated for the 2023 Tony Awards?

Who is receiving special 2023 Tony Awards?

Actor/director Joel Grey and composer John Kander will each receive a Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. Jerry Mitchell will receive the 2023 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, which is given to a theatre artist involved with charitable or humanitarian work, in recognition of his work with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and arts-related volunteer service.

Production stage manager Lisa Dawn Cave, Theatre Development Fund executive director Victoria Bailey, and theatrical accountant Robert Fried will each receive the 2023 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre. This award is given annually to institutions, organizations, or people who have made outstanding contributions to the theatre in roles outside those recognized by the competitive Tony Awards categories.

Additionally, California's Pasadena Playhouse will receive the 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award.
