Get Paranormal Activity tickets on New York Theatre Guide to catch this five-star thriller live on stage. Based on the cult classic film, Paranormal Activity plays on Broadway following its acclaimed regional runs across the country. "The one thing most people will want to know," the Chicago Tribune writes, "Will I be scared? Yes. Very. Cleverly, too."
Experience Paranormal Activity in New York City to see "the year's best staged production" per The Los Angeles Times. The play follows Lou (Cher Álvarez) and Jaems (Travis A. Knight), who have move from Chicago to London for a new start, except old demons follow them. The young couple soon learns it is not places that are haunted, but people.
“Paranormal Activity changed the horror landscape, and bringing the franchise to Broadway allows us to continue expanding that world in a bold and immersive way,” said Josh Silverman, President of Global Products & Experiences at Paramount in a statement. “By combining the franchise’s signature suspense with the power of live theater, this production delivers an unforgettable live experience for the audience.”
The indie film hit in 2007 and was made for a few thousand dollars before raking in over a hundred million. It became a runaway hit, terrifying audiences with its innovative use of found footage. Earning five-star reviews in The Guardian, Financial Times, Telegraph, and other leading outlets, the acclaimed story now comes to Broadway for the first time.
In a statement, playwright Levi Holloway said, “That Paranormal Activity has earned the chance to trouble the sleep of Broadway audiences, that they’ll be immersed in the waking nightmare we’ve had the privilege to make, is the stuff of dreams. I offer it’s unlike anything else on the American stage right now; a work of horror, heart and absolute mischief borne from one of the most profound collaborations of my career.”
