List of Off-Broadway Shows suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic

UPDATED on April 3, 2020: 

According to Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York City, ​ALL theaters, concert venues and nigtclubs are now forced to temporarily shut down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The executive order took effect on the morning of March 17, 2020. This follows the announcement by The Broadway League, resulting in the shutdown of ALL Broadway theaters through April 12, 2020.

Here is a list of theaters and productions affected, which we will regularly update as and when more information becomes available:

Atlantic Theater Company

The U.S. premiere of Anatomy of a Suicide, which was scheduled to conclude on March 15, ended its limited run prematurely at the Linda Gross Theater on March 11. In addition, the New York premiere of Atlantic for Kids' She Persisted, The Musical, originally scheduled to close on March 22, also canceled its remaining performances.

Classic Stage Company

The eagerly anticipated, star-studded Off-Broadway revival of Assassins has been postponed. New dates will be announced shortly.

Irish Repertory Theatre

Irish Rep's production of Incantata (originally set to close on March 15) ended its run prematurely on March 12. In addition, the upcoming production of A Touch of the Poet has also been postponed until further notice.  

Lincoln Center Theater

Performances of LCT's new opera Intimate Apparel at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater are expected to resume in fall 2020, whilst the LCT3 production of The Headlands has now concluded its run at the Claire Tow Theater on Wednesday, March 11.

Lucille Lortel Theatre / Red Bull Theater

The Red Bull Theater world premiere production of The Alchemist, expected to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in May, has been postponed until further notice.

MCC Theater

The remainder of the run for the world premiere production of All the Natalie Portmans has now been canceled. It was originally scheduled to run through March 29. The world premiere productions of Nollywood Dreams and Perry Street have also been canceled.

Minetta Lane Theatre

The Audible Theater production of Faith Salie's Approval Junkie (scheduled to run from March 17 through April 19) has been postponed. More details to follow.

New World Stages

All six productions at New World Stages have been suspended through April 12, including Jersey BoysRock of AgesThe Play That Goes WrongDriftThe Imbible, and Gazillion Bubble Show.

New York City Center

New York City Center has canceled the upcoming Encores! productions of Love Life (which was scheduled to play the Mainstage from March 18 through March 22) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (originally slated from May 6 through May 10), along with the entire Encores! Off-Center 2020 season. In addition, the Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere of The Perplexed (set to close on March 29) has now canceled the remainder of its run at City Center's Stage I. The MTC productions of Poor Yella Rednecks and The Best We Could (a family tragedy) have been postponed until further notice.

New York Theatre Workshop

Performances of NYTW's current productions of Endlings and Sanctuary City (at the Lucille Lortel Theatre) have been suspended until "mid-April."

Pershing Square Signature Center

The current Signature Theatre productions of Cambodian Rock Band and The Hot Wing King, both scheduled to run through March 22, have concluded their respective limited engagements on March 11. The Signature Theatre productions of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and Confederates have been postponed until a later date. In addition, The New Group's world premiere musical Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, also set to close on March 22, has now canceled the remainder of its run.

Playwrights Horizons

Performances for the current New York premiere of Unknown Soldier have now been canceled. The limited engagement, set to conclude on March 29, ended its run on March 11.

Public Theater 

Performances of Coal CountryThe Vagrant Trilogyand The Visitor, have all been canceled through April 12. Rescheduled dates for The Vagrant Trilogy and The Visitor will be announced shortly.

Roundabout Theatre Company

Performances of Roundabout's current production of 72 Miles to Go... at the Laura Pels Theatre have been canceled through April 12. In addition, the Roundabout Underground production of Darling Grenadine, set to run through March 22, has concluded its engagement at the Black Box Theatre on March 11. The Roundabout productions of ...What the End Will Be and Exception to the Rule have been postponed until 2021.

Tony Kiser Theater

Originally slated to run through March 22, the Second Stage Theater production of We're Gonna Die played its final performance on March 12.

Vineyard Theatre

The current New York premiere of Dana H. has suspended performances through March 31, and will then play at 50% capacity through April 12. The production has also extended its limited run through April 19. The spring production of Tuvalu or, The Saddest Song has been postponed to a later yet-to-be-announced date.

Westside Theatre

The smash hit revival of Little Shop of Horrors has suspended performances through April 12.
