David Bedella to join '& Juliet' Broadway cast
The actor was in the original cast of the musical's premiere production in London's West End, where he won an Olivier Award for his performance as Lance.
Let him show you the shape of his heart! David Bedella will join the & Juliet Broadway cast for a limited time, performing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre from March 5 to July 15.
He will take over the role of Lance from original Broadway cast member Paulo Szot, who is taking a temporary leave from the production. Bedella originated the role of Lance in & Juliet's world-premiere production in Manchester, England and later in London's West End, winning an Olivier Award for his performance.
Bedella now joins a cast that also features Lorna Courtney as Juliet, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Austin Scott as Shakespeare, Justin David Sullivan as May, Charity Angél Dawson as Angélique, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, and Philippe Arroyo as Francois.
Written by Schitt's Creek's David West Read, & Juliet imagines what would happen if the title heroine didn't die at the end of Romeo & Juliet. Instead, she and her friends travel to Paris in search of a new lease on life and love.
The show features 30 hit songs from the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and more modern pop artists, all of which are written and/or produced by Grammy Award winner Max Martin.
