Oh my god, they're back again! Joey Fatone will return to the & Juliet Broadway cast this summer, alternating in the role of Lance with original cast member and Tony Award winner Paulo Szot between July 2 and September 13.
*NSYNC band member Fatone first performed as Lance for two runs in spring and summer 2025, marking his first return to Broadway in over 20 years. Read our interview with Fatone about starring in & Juliet.
Szot originated the role when & Juliet opened on Broadway in 2022, departing the show in 2024 but returning for an encore run later that year.
“Coming back to & Juliet feels like coming home,” said Fatone in a statement. “I’m excited to jump back in and have some fun with this incredible cast.”
“Lance is one of the most fun roles I’ve originated and done on Broadway, and coming back to this show feels like revisiting an old friend,” Szot added.
Current cast member James Monroe Iglehart plays his final performance as Lance on June 4, and current understudies Reese Britts and Nicholas Edwards will perform in the interim until Fatone's run begins.

The & Juliet Broadway cast also includes Gianna Harris as Juliet, Alison Luff as Anne, Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, Jeannette Bayardelle as Angelique, Michael Iván Carrier as May, Liam Pearce as Romeo, and Nathan Levy as François. As previously announced, Chrissy Metz will make her Broadway debut as Angelique from June 18 to September 13.
In & Juliet, the end of Shakespeare's classic tragedy is only the beginning. Juliet decides not to die and instead seek life after Romeo, and her story is set to 30 pop hits from the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Kelly Clarkson, and many more.
