This makes her larger than life! Charity Angél Dawson will join the Broadway cast of & Juliet on January 2 in the role of Angélique at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Dawson is known for performing on Broadway in Chicago as Matron “Mama” Morton, Mrs. Doubtfire as Wanda Sellner, Waitress as Becky, and Side Show as the Fortune Teller.

Dawson now replaces Melanie La Barrie, who originated the role in & Juliet's London premiere and its subsequent Broadway transfer. La Barrie plays her final performance on December 30.

The current & Juliet Broadway cast also includes Lorna Courtney as Juliet, Paulo Szot as Lance, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Austin Scott as Shakespeare, Justin David Sullivan as May, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, and Philippe Arroyo as Francois.

Written by David West Read of Schitt's Creek and featuring 30 pop hits, & Juliet reimagines what would happen if Juliet, of Romeo & Juliet, didn't die and instead set out to find new friends and romance after Romeo.
