Rannells and Miller to announce 2016 Tony Nominations
Tony nominee, Grammy winner and star of HBO's "Girls" Andrew Rannells and Tony winner and star of CBS' "Madam Secretary" Patina Miller will officially announce the 2016 Tony Award Nominations on 3 May 2016 at 8:30am at The Diamond Horseshoe in The Paramount Hotel in New York City.
It has been ruled that productions that opened during the 2015-2016 Broadway season on or before the 28 April 2015 cut-off date may be eligible for Tony Awards this year.
The 70th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS from the Beacon Theatre in New York City on 12 June 2016, hosted by Tony winner and "The Late Late Show" presenter James Corden.
The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League (Chairman: Robert E. Wankel, President: Charlotte St. Martin) and the American Theatre Wing (Chairman: William Ivey Long, President: Heather A. Hitchens).
Andrew Rannells earned a Tony nomination in 2011 for originating the role of Elder Price in 'The Book of Mormon.' Other Broadway credits include the role of King George in 'Hamilton,' the title role in 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch,' Bob Gaudio in 'Jersey Boys,' and Link Larkin and Fender in 'Hairspray.'
Patina Miller won a Tony Award in 2013 for her performance as Leading Player in 'Pippin.' She was also nominated in 2011 for originating the role of Deloris Van Cartier in 'Sister Act,' which she had previously played at the London Palladium.
