This makes him larger than life! Austin Scott will join the Broadway cast of & Juliet. He will step into the role from August 8 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Scott is best known for playing the title role in Hamilton and originating the role of Joe Scott in Girl From the North Country, both on Broadway. He now replaces original & Juliet cast member Stark Sands in the role of William Shakespeare; Sands plays his final performance August 6.

The current & Juliet Broadway cast also includes Tony Award nominee Lorna Courtney as Juliet, Tony winner Paulo Szot as Lance, Tony nominee Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Justin David Sullivan as May, Melanie La Barrie as Angelique, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, and Philippe Arroyo as Francois.

& Juliet imagines what would happen if Juliet didn't die at the end of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. When Shakespeare's wife, Anne, decides to write her a new ending, she travels to Paris to get a new lease on life and love. Her story is set to 30 pop songs by multi-award-winning songwriter/producer Max Martin, including hits by Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, and more.
