Hey, little songbird! Solea Pfeiffer will join the Broadway cast of Hadestown in the lead role of Eurydice beginning on August 15 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Pfeiffer made her Broadway debut last fall as Penny Lane in Almost Famous and currently plays Ophelia in the Shakespeare in the Park production of Hamlet. In Hadestown, she replaces original cast member Eva Noblezada, who plays her final performance as Eurydice on August 13.

The current Hadestown cast also includes Reeve Carney as Orpheus, Lillias White (now appearing through February 4) as Hermes, Jewelle Blackman as Persephone, and Tom Hewitt as Hades. As previously announced, Betty Who and Phillip Boykin will assume the roles of Persephone and Hades on September 5.

Anaïs Mitchell's eight-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, directed by Rachel Chavkin, tells Greek mythology through folk and jazz music. The musician Orpheus takes a dangerous journey to the underworld to rescue his love, Eurydice, and their story is intertwined with the myth of Hades and Persephone's own relationship.
