'Hadestown' names new principal Broadway cast from March 2026

Five new actors will step into the eight-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, which is currently in its sixth year at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

They're going way down Hadestown! Hadestown on Broadway will welcome an all-new principal cast beginning March 3 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

The new cast members include Disney star Joshua Colley (Descendants: The Rise Of Red, Newsies) as Orpheus, Jordan Tyson (Gypsy, The Notebook) as Eurydice, Tony and Grammy Award winner J. Harrison Ghee (Some Like It Hot) as Hermes, Grammy winner Gaby Moreno as Persephone, and SAG Award winner Gary Dourdan as Hades.

They replace current cast members Jack Wolfe, Morgan Dudley, Kurt Elling, Allison Russell, and Paulo Szot, respectively. All depart the production March 1. Jessie Shelton, Brit West, and Kay Trinidad continue as the Fates.

Anaïs Mitchell’s jazz-folk adaptation of Greek mythology centers on two love stories: those of Orpheus and Eurydice, and underworld gods Hades and Persephone. Now in its sixth year on Broadway since opening in 2019, Hadestown is the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
