‘Dirty Dancing’ musical to play limited Broadway run this spring

Making an extended stop in NYC following its North American tour, the show will run at the Lena Horne Theatre for seven months only.

Nobody puts this news in a corner! The Dirty Dancing musical will come to Broadway this spring, playing at the Lena Horne Theatre starting February 12 ahead of a March 14 opening night. The limited run is scheduled through September 5 only.

Based on the classic Jennifer Grey/Patrick Swayze film of the same name, Dirty Dancing follows a young woman who falls in love with a dance instructor while on vacation in the Catskills in 1963. Screenwriter Eleanor Bergstein adapted her screenplay for the musical, which features songs from the film like the Oscar-winning "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."

The Broadway cast is led by Annalese Starzec as Frances "Baby" Houseman and Blake Zelesnikar as Johnny Castle, who will both make their Broadway debuts alongside 19 other cast members. The cast also includes Olivia Cece as Penny Johnson; Bryan Fenkart as Jake Houseman, Dan Klimko as Neil Kellerman, Lily Kren as Lisa Houseman, Ashley LaLonde as Elizabeth, Gina Lamparella as Marjorie Houseman, Loren Lester as Max Kellerman, Ethan Peterson as Billy Kostecki, and Erick Pinnick as Tito Suarez.

Completing the company are Emma Jade Branson, Marcus Byers, Jr., Jonas Cohen, Sarah Ellis, Aria Christina Evans, Anthony J. Gasbarre III, Zoe Edan Lemelman, Francesca Mancuso, Brett Rawlings, Jason Richards, Antony Sanchez, Grace Sautter, Neil Starkenberg, Fisher Lane Stewart, John Swapshire, and Carmella Taitt.

The production is directed by Lonny Price, who played Neil Kellerman in the film, and features choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie, music supervision and arrangements by Joseph Joubert, orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, dance arrangements by Michael Thurber, set design by Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Kai Harada, video design by David Bengali, and hair, wig, and makeup design by Robert Pickens.

The musical version of Dirty Dancing first played in Australia in 2004, and it later played in London in 2006, 2013, and 2022. The show’s Broadway debut is an extended stop of its latest North American tour, which launched in August 2026; previous North American tours ran in 2006 and 2014.
