Second Stage Theater has set its 2025-26 season, consisting of five plays across its Broadway and Off-Broadway venues.

The fall Broadway production is Marjorie Prime, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison and directed by Tony Award nominee Anne Kauffman, who also staged the play's world premiere at Playwrights Horizons off Broadway in 2015. The show reinvents the family drama by following the relationship between an elderly woman and an AI version of her late husband.

Performances begin November 20 ahead of a December 8 opening.

On Broadway in the spring is Becky Shaw, about a blind date that goes "spectacularly off the rails." Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison Gina Gionfriddo and directed by Obie Award winner Trip Cullman, the play begins March 18, 2026, ahead of an April 8 opening.

Both shows mark their playwrights' Broadway debuts and will play at the Hayes Theater.

Kicking off Second Stage's Off-Broadway season is Meet the Cartozians, which combines historical drama and satire in the story of two Armenian Americans generations apart: one fighting for legal recognition, one for followers and a glam team. The world-premiere play is written by Talene Monahon and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer.

Performances begin October 29 ahead of a November 18 opening.

The next world premiere is Meat Suit, or the shitshow of motherhood, written and directed by Aya Ogawa. This unfiltered show, which shines a light on the inner deaths that come with every birth, is described as "theatrical carnival that plunges audiences into the raw, hilarious chaos of being a mom," featuring songs, clowning, and humor.

Performances begin February 11, 2026, ahead of a February 25 opening.

The final Off-Broadway show in the season is a revival of The Receptionist by Adam Bock. Business as usual goes out the window for an ordinary receptionist when an unexpected guest arrives at the office. Performances begin April 15 ahead of a May 7 opening.

All three of Second Stage's Off-Broadway shows will perform on the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
