2025 Tony Award winners announced

The 2025 Tony Award winners have been announced, with this year's ceremony airing live from Radio City Music Hall in celebration of the best of Broadway theatre from the 2024-25 season.
Maybe Happy Ending led the pack with six awards including Best Musical, followed by Buena Vista Social Club with four. Other top awards went to Purpose (Best Play), Sunset Boulevard (Best Musical Revival), and Eureka Day (Best Play Revival).
In addition to the competitive awards, multiple special awards were also given out. Special award recipients included the band of the musical Buena Vista Social Club (Marco Paguia, David Oquendo, Renesito Avich, Gustavo Schartz, Javier Días, Román Diaz, Mauricio Herrera, Jesus Ricardo, Eddie Venegas, Hery Paz, and Leonardo Reyna) and the illusions and technical effects designers of the play Stranger Things: The First Shadow (Jamie Harrison, Chris Fisher, Gary Beestone, and Edward Pierce).
Harvey Fierstein received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Celia Keenan-Bolger won the Isabelle Stevenson Award for humanitarian work. The Muny (Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis) of Missouri received the 2025 Regional Theatre Tony Award, and teacher Gary Edwin Robinson of Brooklyn received the Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
The 2025 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre were awarded to PBS's Great Performances; Michael Price of Goodspeed Musicals in Connecticut; the nonprofit Off-Broadway theatre company New 42; and The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
