Benjamin Walker Scodelario-Davis was born on June 21, 1982 in Cartersville, Georgia. He is a Tony-nominated actor who is known for his leading roles in Hollywood films such as The ChoiceIn the Heart of the Sea, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

After attending Cartersville High School, Walker pursued a career in the arts by training at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and then the famed Juilliard School in New York City, graduating in 2004. He made his Broadway debut as Bertram Cates in March 2007 revival of Inherit the Wind at the Lyceum Theatre, but his next stage role would become his breakthrough. He starred as Andrew Jackson in the world premiere musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at the Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles from December 2007 and received great critical acclaim. After his return to Broadway in April 2008, taking on the role of Le Chevalier Danceny in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the American Airlines Theatre, he would reprise the role of Andrew Jackson in the Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson's Off-Broadway premiere at The Public Theater, which ran from March to June 2010 and earned him his first Drama League nomination for Distinguished Performance. The production transferred to Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in September 2010 and ran to January 2011.

Walker's next Broadway venture was to star as Brick, opposite Scarlett Johansson, in a much-publicized revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Richard Rodgers Theatre from December 2012 to March 2013. He would finally return to the New York stage as leading man Patrick Bateman in the Broadway premiere of American Psycho, which ran from March to June 2016 and resulted in Walker's first Drama Desk Award nomination, in the category of Outstanding Actor in a Musical.

Walker made his feature film debut in the 2004 movie Kinsey, playing the titular character at 19 years old. Following roles in The Notorious Bettie Page in 2005 and Unconscious in 2006, his next big role was Harlon Block in the 2006 epic Flags of our Fathers. His film career was propelled to new heights in 2012 after winning the title role in the action-horror movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He has also starred as George Pollard in the Moby Dick-inspired 2015 film In the Heart of the Sea and as Travis in the 2016 romantic drama The Choice. His other notable screen credits include The War Boys (2009), Wolfe with an E (2011), HBO's Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight (2011), and Netflix's Shimmer Lake (2017).

Walker returned to the stage, once again appearing for Roundabout Theatre Company, to star in a Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons at the American Airlines Theatre from April 4 through June 30, 2019. He earned his first Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of Chris Keller.
