Fire and Air extends limited run at Classic Stage Company

Terrence McNally's Fire and Air will now conclude its world premiere engagement on March 2, 2018.

Classic Stage Company has announced a 1-week extension for its current world premiere engagement of 4-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally's new play Fire and Air, which began previews on January 17, 2018, officially opened on February 1, and will now play through to March 2 (instead of February 25).

Synopsis: "Fire and Air explores the rich history of the Ballets Russes, Sergei Diaghilev's itinerant Russian ballet company. Surrounded by great talents of art, design, and music, the tempestuous relationship between Diaghilev and dancer Vaslav Nijinsky revolutionizes dance forever."

Under the helm of CSC Artistic Director and Tony Award winner John Doyle, the cast of Fire and Air includes (in alphabetical order) James Cusati-Moyer (as Nijinsky), Tony Award winner John Glover (as Dima), Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge (as Diaghilev), Jay Armstrong Johnson (as Massine), 4-time Academy Award nominee Marsha Mason (as Dunya) and 3-time Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie (as Misia).

Douglas Hodge won a Tony Award in 2010 for his Broadway debut as Albin in La Cage aux FollesMarsha Mason was last seen on the New York stage in the 2009 Broadway premiere of ImpressionismMarin Mazzie earned Tony Award nominations for her turns in Kiss Me, Kate (2000), Ragtime (1998), and Passion (1994), and John Glover won a Tony Award for Love! Valour! Compassion! in 1995. James Cusati-Moyer recently made his Broadway debut in Six Degrees of Seperation and Jay Armstrong Johnson last appeared on the Great White Way as Chip in the 2014 revival of On the Town.

The creative team behind Fire and Air features scenic design by John Doyle, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Jane Cox, sound design by Matt Stine and hair and make-up design by J. Jared Janas.

Fire and Air Tickets are available now for performances through to March 2, 2018.
