Chicago will reopen on Broadway in September after a year of suspended performances. Chicago will recommence at the Ambassador Theatre from Sept. 14, 2021, which is also the first night that Broadway theatres can welcome a full capacity audience. Find out more about Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre here.

With Chicago reopening this September, the production will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Broadway on November 14. To date, it’s the second-longest running Broadway musical of all time, behind The Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre.

Casting for Chicago's Broadway return is to be confirmed. When Broadway theatres were shut down in March 2020, the cast included Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn, Haley Swindal as Matron "Mama" Morton, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Chicago joins the list of musicals which have posted reopening dates since earlier announcements this week. Six begins its second previews from September 17 ahead of an opening night on October 3, The Phantom of the Opera will begin performances from October 22, and Diana begins its run on December 1. More productions are expected to reveal further reopening details next week.
