Well, a comedy written by Lisa Kron and directed by Leigh Silverman, will end its run on Broadway on the 14 May 2006, it was booking to the 2 Jul. When the comedy closes it will have played 23 previews and 53 performances.
Well opened at the Longacre Theatre on the 30 Mar 2006, following previews from the 10 Mar 2006.
Despite receiving fairly good reviews the show had been playing to less then half-capacity.
The comedy made its world premiere at the Public Theater in the spring of 2004.
Well opens with Lisa Kron's mother sitting on a La-Z-Boy recliner in the middle of the stage. As the play goes on to deal with Kron's personal experiences of healing, a coup d��tat breaks out. The actors critique the script, her memories conflict with her flashbacks, her mother interrupts with her own opinions, and Kron finds herself in danger of losing control.
Well's cast, directed by Leigh Silverman, features: Lisa Kron, Jayne Houdyshell, Daniel Breaker, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, John Hoffman and Christina Kirk..
The production has set design by Tony Walton, costumes by Miranda Hoffman, lighting by Christopher Akerlind and sound by John Gromada.
