Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, by Meghan Kennedy



Roundabout Theatre Company's next Roundabout Underground production will be Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, a new play by Meghan Kennedy, directed by Sheryl Kaller. The cast and creative team will be announced shortly.

Too Much, Too Much, Too Many will open at The Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center's Black Box Theatre on 20 Nov 2013, following previews from 25 Oct 2013, and run through to 05 Jan 2014.

Too Much, Too Much, Too Many: Following the death of her husband, Rose locks herself in her bedroom for the better part of a year, leaving her daughter Emma to care for her through the closed door. When the church sends a pastor to help coax Rose out of her room, he soon finds that Rose is not the only one using barriers to hide her true feelings.

Meghan Kennedy's 'The Greenest Month' was a semi-finalist for the 2007 Princess Grace award, a finalist for The 2009 Bay Area Playwrights Festival and received a staged reading at The National Comedy Theatre in New York City. Her play 'Light,' won the 2012 David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize. Her play Too Much, Too Much, Too Many was featured at the 2012 PlayPenn Conference and she was Writer in Residence at the 2012 Cape Cod Theatre Project. Kennedy has had her plays produced in Dublin, Ireland, New York City and Austin, Texas.

Roundabout Underground is an initiative to showcase new plays that will either allow an experienced director to go back to his/her creative roots or give a debut production to an emerging writer or director.
