The Screwtape Letters extends by 4 weeks

The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis, adapted for the stage by Fellowship of the Performing Arts, extends its run by four weeks, and is now playing through to 6 Jan 2008.

The Screwtape Letters opened at the Theatre at St. Clement's on 8 Nov 2007, following previews from 18 Oct, and was originally scheduled to close on 9 Dec 2007.

The Screwtape Letters is set in an office in hell, the play follows a senior devil, Screwtape, and his secretary, Toadpipe, as they train a new apprentice, Wormwood, on how to 'undermine faith and prevent the formation of virtues' in a young man who has just converted to Christianity.

Max McLean plays the devilish Screwtape, with Karen Eleanor Wight playing his stalwart secretary, Toadpipe.

The design team comprises Cameron Anderson (sets) Michael Bevins (costumes), Tyler Micoleau (lighting) and Bart Fasbender (sound).

The initial production of The Screwtape Letters opened at Theatre 315 in NYC in Jan 2006 for a limited three week run but, due to popular demand, ran for eleven weeks.
