Slowgirl: Željko Ivanek & Sarah Steele to star
Željko Ivanek (Damages) and Sarah Steele will star in the world premiere production of Slowgirl, a new play by Greg Pierce, which will be directed by Anne Kauffman.
Slowgirl, playing from 4 Jun to 15 Jul 2012 - opening night 18 Jun 2012 - will be the inaugral proudction at th Lincoln Center Theatres new venue, the Claire Tow Theater.
Slowgirl is the story of a young woman (Sarah Steele) who flees to her reclusive uncle's (Željko Ivanek) retreat in the Costa Rican jungle to escape the aftermath of a horrific accident. The week they spend together forces them both to confront who they are as well as what it is they are running from.
The creative team features sets by Rachel Hauck, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by JaphyWeideman and sound by Leah Gelpe.
Ivanek won an Obie Award for his role as "Ray Fiske" in the TV series "Damages." Other TV credits include, "The Event," "True Blood," "Big Love" and "Heroes." He has received Tony nominations for 'The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial,' 'Two Shakespearean Actors' and 'Brighton Beach Memoirs.'
Steele Steele has starred Off-Broadway in 'Russian Transport,' 'All-American' and 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.' Movie credits include "Spanglish," "Margaret" and "Last Kind Words." On TV she has made guest appearances in "Law & Order," "Gossip Girl" and "The Good Wife."
