New releases announced on BroadwayHD

Sam Harris' HAM: A Musical Memoir will stream exclusively on the platform.

UPDATE: On 25 January, it was announced the Royal Shakespeare Company in England have partnered with BroadwayHD to offer nine Shakespeare plays. Plays so far include Hamlet, King Lear and Timon of Athens.

With Broadway theatres remaining shut for the foreseeable future, BroadwayHD has announced a variety of shows available to stream in January 2021. Founded in 2015, BroadwayHD offers over 300 theatre productions to watch, as well as exclusive livestreams.

Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, co-founders of BroadwayHD, said, "BroadwayHD is eager to start the new year with a diverse and engaging line-up" said co-founders Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley.

The new productions coming to BroadwayHD include:

Jersey Boys: Based on the Frankie Valli jukebox musical, the 2014 film adaptation follows four young men who come together to form a singing quartet. Available from January 1.

Ham: A Musical Memoir: Based on Sam Harris' critically-acclaimed book "Ham: Slices of a Life", Harris plays all 12 characters in this musical memoir, directed by Billy Porter. It tells of Harris, a young Oklahoma boy who grows up with ambitions of becoming a big star. Available from January 7.

Billy the Kid: Dudley Sutton plays Billy, an octogenarian who shares stories of his life during World War Two. Available from January 12.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong: Inspired by J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, Mischief Theatre's Christmas play sees the Darling children try and fly to Neverland, with technical hitches galore. Available from January 15.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Filmed in 1965, Ginger Rogers stars in the fairytale film, recently seen on Broadway starring Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana. Available from January 21.

Rose: The Olivier Award-winning actress Maureen Lipman plays Rose in this one-woman play, offering insight into the history of antisemitism during the twentieth century. Available from January 27.

Casanova: Filmed in Manchester, England, Northern Ballet's performance follows a lovestruck Casanova consumed by his desires. Available from January 31.
