The cult classic musical began performances June 22, 2025 and was originally scheduled to play at New World Stages for three months only. The same venue was also home to the world premiere of the Heathers musical, adapted from the 1989 Winona Ryder/Christian Slater movie, in 2014.

Heathers is a dark comedy about high school nobody Veronica as she gets catapulted into the school's popular clique, the Heathers, while also falling for mysterious new kid J.D. — who teaches her that it kills to be a somebody.
