When you're good to Lili, Lili's good to you! Lili Thomas will join the cast of Chicago on Broadway beginning September 11 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Thomas will become the first Asian American actress to play the role of Matron "Mama" Morton in the long-running musical revival. She is also known for playing Cynthia Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen's U.S. tour and performing off Broadway in We’re Gonna Die and The Hello Girls.

She replaces Jennifer Fouché, who plays her final performance as Mama on September 10. The current Chicago cast also includes Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Kimberly Marable as Velma Kelly, Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

John Kander and Fred Ebb's Chicago follows two murderesses — a housewife and a vaudeville performer — who manipulate the press to get acquitted and become overnight celebrities in the process. The current production has run since 1996, making it the longest-running revival and second-longest-running show in Broadway history.
