Jon Jon Briones, Isa Briones to join 'Hadestown' Broadway cast
The two actors are real-life father and daughter, and they will step into the roles of Hermes and Eurydice in the Tony Award-winning musical in March.
Hadestown is a family affair! Jon Jon Briones and his daughter, Isa Briones, will join the cast of Hadestown on Broadway, becoming the first familial duo to do so, beginning March 19 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
Jon Jon Briones is known for playing The Engineer in the most recent Miss Saigon revival on Broadway and in London's West End, as well as for his series regular roles on Ryan Murphy’s Ratched and Class of ’09. Isa Briones makes her Broadway debut after appearing on screen in Star Trek: Picard and Goosebumps.
They will step into the roles of Hermes and Eurydice, respectively replacing Lillias White and Lola Tung. The Brioneses join a cast that also includes Jordan Fisher as Orpheus, Ani DiFranco as Persephone, Phillip Boykin as Hades, and Belén Moyano, Kay Trinidad, and Brit West as the Fates.
Created by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, the eight-time Tony Award-winning Hadestown reimagines Greek mythology with a folk and jazz twist. The show centers on songwriter Orpheus, who takes a dangerous journey to save his lover, Eurydice, from the god Hades and his oppressive underworld.
