Jewtopia' celebrates 1000th performance


Jewtopia, the long-running comedy written by Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson, now in its second year at Westside Theatre, celebrates its 1,000 performance Off-Broadway tonight (20 Feb 2007). The comedy is currently booking to 8 Jul 2007.

Jewtopia opened in New York on 21 Oct 2004 (previews began 28 Sep 2004) following a 16-month sold-out run at West Hollywood�s Coast Playhouse where it holds the record as Los Angeles� longest-running comedy..

Jewtopia tells the story of two 30 year-old single men, Chris O'Connell and Adam Lipschitz. Chris, a gentile, wants to marry a nice Jewish girl. After forming a secret pact, Adam promises to help Chris shed his gentile-ness and bring him undercover into the Jewish world. Cultures clash. Stereotypes collide. Chaos ensues.

Jewtopia features Glynis Bell, Samantha Daniel, Lorry Goldman, Josh Heine, Rosanne Ma, Jeremy Rishe, Joel Rooks.

The creative team is comprised of Patrick Fahey (sets), Mike Baldassari (lights), Cynthia Nordstrom (costumes) and Kevin Lacy (sound).
