Domesticated: further casting announced



Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Vanessa Aspillaga, Mia Barron, Robin De Jesus, Jeff Goldblum, Lizbeth MacKay, Emily Meade, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Pittman and Misha Seo will join the previously announced Laurie Metcalf in their world premiere production of Bruce Norris' Domesticated, directed by Anna D. Shapiro. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Domesticated will open at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on 04 Nov 2013, following previews from 10 Oct 2013, and run through to 05 Jan 2013.

Domesticated: About politics and gender involving a husband (Jeff Goldblum) and wife (Laurie Metcalf) whose marriage is upended when they become embroiled in a scandal.

The creative team features sets by Todd Rosenthal, costumes by Jennifer Von Mayrhauser, lighting by James Ingalls and sound design by John Gromada.

Bios:

Vanessa Aspillaga has appeared on Broadway in 'Anna in the Tropics.' Her Off-Broadway credits include 'Chasing Manet,' 'Paradise Park,' 'The Clean House' (LCT), 'The Cataract' and 'As You Like It.'

Mia Barron has starred on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia trilogy' and 'QED'. What Once We Felt (LCT3). Off-Broadway she starred in Bruce Norris's 'The Pain and the Itch,' directed by Anna D. Shapiro. Other Off-Broadway credits include 'Knickerbocker,' 'Spirit Control,' 'What Once We Felt' and 'The World Over.'

Jeff Goldblum's Broadway credits are 'Seminar,' 'The Pillowman,' 'The Play What I Wrote,' 'The Moony Shapiro Songbook' and 'Two Gentlemen of Verona.' His film credits include "The Fly," "Jurassic Park" and its sequel "Jurassic Park: The Lost World," and "Independence Day." He starred as "Detective Zach Nichols" for the eighth and ninth seasons of the TV crime drama series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

Robin De Jesus has appeared on Broadway in 'La Cage Aux Folles' (Tony Award nomination), 'In The Heights' (Tony Award nomination) and 'Rent.'

Lizbeth MacKay has appeared on Broadway in 'Picnic,' 'All My Sons,' 'The Price,' 'The Heiress,' 'Abe Lincoln in Illinois,' 'Crimes of the Heart' and 'Othello.' Her many Off-Broadway credits include 'Sons of the Prophet,' 'The Forest' and 'Sea of Tranquility.'

Emily Meade's Off-Broadway credits: 'The Puberty Club,' 'Waitiing for the Light to Change' and 'Sleep Away' (24*7 Theater Company at the Cherry Lane Theatre). Film: "Gabriel," "Thanks for Sharing," "Sleepwalk With Me," "Gimme Shelter," "Young Adult" and "Trespass." TV: "Fringe," "Boardwalk Empire," "Law & Order" and "Law & Order: SVU."

Laurie Metcalf was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance this past season in 'The Other Place.' Her other recent stage credits include the Broadway productions of 'Brighton Beach Memoirs' and 'November' and the West End production of 'Long Day's Journey Into Night.'

Bruce Norris (playwright) won the Tony Award, Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as London's Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for his play 'Clybourne Park.' His other works include 'A Parallelogram,' 'The Unmentionables,' 'The Pain and the Itch,' 'We All Went Down To Amsterdam,' 'Purple Heart' and 'The Infidel.'

Mary Beth Peil's Broadway credits include 'Follies,' 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,' 'Sunday in the Park with George,' 'Nine' and 'The King and I' opposite Yul Brynner (Tony Award nomination). Off-Broadway credits include: 'Harper Regan,' 'The Room,' and 'Sylvia.' On TV she starred as "Jackie Florrick" in "The Good Wife" and as "Evelyn 'Grams' Ryan" in "Dawson's Creek."

Karen Pittman has appeared Off-Broadway in 'Disgraced.'

Misha Seo has appeared Off-Broadway in 'Moses' and 'Amateur Night at the Apollo.' Film: "Sleeping with the Fishes."

Anna D. Shapiro (Director) directed Bruce Norris' 'A Parallelogram,' 'The Unmentionables,' 'The Pain and the Itch,' 'Purple Heart' and 'The Infidel.' Winner of the Tony Award for her direction of 'August: Osage County,' her other NY credits include the Broadway production of 'The Motherfucker with the Hat.'
