Casting is now complete for the previously announced Broadway premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, which is set to play the Longacre Theatre for a strictly limited 16-week engagement from September 20, 2019, through January 5, 2020, with an official opening on October 16.

The ten actors, who recently completed the show's National Tour, are all scheduled to reprise their respective roles on the Great White Way. The cast includes Chris McCarrell (as Percy Jackson), Jorrel Javier (as Grover / Mr. D), Ryan Knowles (as Chiron and others), Sarah Beth Pfeifer (as Clarisse and others), James Hayden Rodriguez (as Luke and others), Jalynn Steele (as Sally and others), and Kristin Stokes (as Annabeth), alongside Izzy Figueroa, Sam Leicht, and T. Shyvonne Stewart.

Chris McCarrell previously made his Broadway debut in the 2014 revival of Les Misérables, eventually assuming the role of Marius. He originated the role of Percy Jackson off-Broadway in 2017 and also starred as Nibs in NBC's "Peter Pan Live!" in 2014.

Synopsis: "As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can't control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus' lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods. Based on the best-selling novel by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, with an onstage company of seven playing more than 47 characters, The Lightning Thief is an action-packed theatrical adventure about accepting that normal is a myth and embracing the superpowers inside all of us."

The family-friendly musical features an original score by Rob Rokicki and a book by Joe Tracz (who made his Broadway debut with Be More Chill), and is based on the popular young adult novel by Rick Riordan.

Directed by Stephen Brackett and choreographed by Patrick McCollum, the creative team behind The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical features orchestrations by Wiley DeWeese & Rob Rokicki, scenic design by Lee Savage, costume design by Sydney Maresca, lighting design by David Lander, sound design by Ryan Rumery, puppet design by AchesonWalsh, fight direction by Rod Kinter, and hair, wigs & makeup design by Dave Bova.

This musical adaptation of The Lightning Thief first premiered off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in the spring of 2017, where it enjoyed a sold-out, six-week run and ultimately earned three Drama Desk Award nominations, including "Outstanding Musical." A North American National Tour of the production was launched in January 2019 in Chicago and played a total of 32 cities, culminating in Boston last month.

The Lightning Thief was first published in July 2005 and is the first book of the "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" pentalogy. The novel has spent over 500 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list and even spawned a Hollywood film adaptation back in 2010.
