Basilica extends run by one week

Rattlestick Playwrights have extended their world premiere production of Mando Alvarado's Basilica by one week, the show will now play through to 22 Jun 2013.

Basilica opened at the Cherry Lane Theatre on 23 May 2013, following previews from 08 May 2013, and was originally scheduled to close on 16 Jun 2013.

Basilica: In South Texas, two things loom large-the Catholic Church and Texas pride-and Joe Garza, a strong, hard-working man, embodies one more than the other. But when he learns that Gilbert Gonzalez has returned as the new pastor at the Basilica, Joe's confronted with the choices he made in life and questions the past the only way he knows how-with anger, pride, and a biting tongue.

Directed by Jerry Ruiz, Basilica stars Jake Cannavale, Rosal Colon, Bernardo Cubria, Selenis Leyva, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Alfredo Narciso and Felix Solis.

The scenic design features sets by Raul Abrego, costume design by Carisa Kelly, lighting design by Burke Brown and sound design by Jane Shaw.
