After months of free pop-up performances in New York City, the festival NY PopsUp will come to a conclusion this weekend. The final event as part of NY PopsUp will take place tomorrow, August 7 at 4:00pm at Hudson River Park's Pier 76.

The upcoming NY PopsUp event will star Tony Award-winning actor Gavin Creel, who has recently starred in Broadway musicals such as Hello, Dolly! and Waitress. Creel will be joined by Amber Iman, who sang earlier during the festival at the Broadway Theatre. Sasha Allen, Jo Lampert, Whitney White, Ayodele Casel will also take part, with more acts to be revealed at the show.

NY PopsUp events have been taking place across New York City for 25 weeks. During the festival, there have been 300 performances, with 634 artists taking part. Speaking about NY PopsUp, Governor Cuomo said: "Through NY PopsUp, we were able to share the unparalleled experience of live entertainment with communities all across the state, while supporting New York's arts professionals with events and venues designed to promote social distancing."

During the festival, events took place at the St. James Theatre and the Broadway Theatre. Coincidentally, NY PopsUp will finish on the same weekend that a Broadway venue is open with a play for the first time, as Pass Over began performances at the August Wilson Theatre earlier this week.
