Following yesterday's postponement, Second Stage Theater's Broadway premiere of Straight White Men, written by Young Jean Lee and directed by Anna D. Shapiro, begins performances at the Hayes Theater tonight. An official opening is set for July 23, with the limited engagement running through to September 9, 2018.

Synopsis: "It's Christmas Eve, and Ed has gathered his three adult sons to celebrate with matching pajamas, trash-talking, and Chinese takeout. But when a question they can't answer interrupts their holiday cheer, they are forced to confront their own identities. Straight White Men takes a hilariously ruthless look at the classic American father-son drama. This is one white Christmas like you've never seen before."

The cast of Straight White Men includes Golden Globe nominee Armie Hammer (as Drew), Golden Globe and two-time Emmy Award nominee Josh Charles (as Jake), Tony Award nominee Denis Arndt (as Ed), Paul Schneider (as Matt), Kate Bornstein (as Person In Charge #1), and Ty Defoe (as Person In Charge #2). With the exception of Mr. Arndt, the production marks the Broadway debuts for all the performers.

The creative team features scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Suttirat Larlab, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by M.L. Dogg, and choreography by Faye
Driscoll.

Congratulations to Young Jean Lee who makes history tonight with the Second Stage Theater production of Straight White Men as the first female Asian-American playwright to ever be produced on Broadway.

Straight White Men Tickets are available now for performances through to September 9, 2018.
