'Richard And Anne' at the Arclight Theatre


The Mirror Repertory Company, in association with the Young Mirror, will present the New York premiere of Maxwell Anderson's Richard And Anne, which espouses the theory that Richard was a hero much maligned by Shakespeare's Richard.

Richard And Anne opens at the Arclight Theatre on the 2 Jun 2005, following previews from the 28 May. The show is booking to the 19 Jun 2005.

Directed by Anthony Nelson, Richard And Anne tells the story of professional troupe who try to open Richard III and are haunted by the ghosts of the historical Richard and his fool.

Maxwell Anderson's works include 'Winterset', 'Anne of the Thousand Days', 'Key Largo', and the screenplay of 'Ben Hur'. He was a dominant force in American Theatre for several decades.

His work Richard And Anne, written in 1955 but never produced opens with Shakespeare's Richard III, who is interrupted by the ghost of the true Richard himself, eager to tell his story, clear his name, and restore the purity of the one true love of his life.

The cast features Kyle T. Jones as Richard, Lauren Marie Jones as Anne, Devon Jackson, Zina Anaplioti, Lindsey Anderson, Lucas Beck, Catherine Campbell, Jay Chafin, Rachel Evans, Ian Forrester, Zachary Green, Kim Katzberg, Nicholas Uber Leonard, Charles McAteer, Aubyn Philabaum, Macadam Smith, Max Shulman, Nicholas Ward and Sarah Jane Eigerman.

Set Design is by Ian Forrester, Fight Choreographer is Dominic Tancredi, Costumes are by Gail Cooper-Hecht, Sound by Joseph Varca, and Lighting by Malcolm Sturchio.
