QuaranTune #3: "The Room Where It Happens" from Hamilton
A show tune a day keeps the quarantine blues at bay...
We hope you all had a good weekend of social distancing out there and that you're managing to keep the quarantine blues away. But if you're struggling today, then here's our daily dose of "QuaranTunes" to put some pep back in your step...
As we all long to be back in "The Room Where It Happens" and experience the best in live theater once again, what better way to kick off the week than with Mr. Leslie Odom Jr., who originated the role of Aaron Burr in the musical phenomenon Hamilton at the Public Theater and Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre.
Already a fan favorite thanks to his role as Sam Strickland on the Broadway-centric musical series "Smash" on NBC, Odom Jr. was propelled into Broadway superstardom thanks to his starring turn as Aaron Burr, culminating in his first Tony Award win in 2016. And, as previously reported, we can't wait to see him reprise the role in movie theaters in 2021!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we give you Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr (...sir!) in "The Room Where It Happens"...
I've got to be in the room where it happens. (Aaron Burr, Hamilton)
