Playwrights Horizons announces cast of This Flat Earth
The world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino's new play This Flat Earth begins performances off-Broadway on March 16, 2018.
Playwrights Horizons has now announced complete casting for the upcoming world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino's new play This Flat Earth, directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman, which begins previews at at the company’s Mainstage Theater on March 16, 2018, before an official opening on April 9 and a limited engagement through to April 29, 2018.
The cast of This Flat Earth includes Cassie Beck (as Lisa), Ella Kennedy Davis (as Julie), Lynda Gravatt (as Cloris), Lucas Papaelias (as Dan), and Ian Saint-Germain (as Zander).
Synopsis: "At a middle school in this seaside town, the unthinkable has happened, placing a bewildered community in the national spotlight. Stuck at home in a state of shocked limbo, Julie and Zander, two thirteen-year-olds, try to make sense of the chaos they witnessed, their awkward crushes and an infinitely more complicated future – but the grown-ups are no help at all. An urgent response to our times, This Flat Earth is a startling and deeply felt story of growing up in our confounding world."
The creative team features scenic design by Tony Award winner Dane Laffrey, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by two-time Tony Award winner Christopher Akerlind and sound design by Mikhail Fiksel.
Playwrights Horizons' 2017-2018 season also includes the current production of The Mad Ones' Miles for Mary at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater extended through to February 25, as well as the world premiere of Clare Barron's Dance Nation from April 13 until May 27, 2018, at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater and the world premiere of Jordan Harrison's Log Cabin, starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson, from June 1 until July 15, 2018, at the Mainstage Theater.
