Juan Michael Porter II is a Black gay man living with HIV in the middle of Brooklyn. He is the staff writer of TheBody.com as well as a contributor Christian Science Monitor, TDF Stages, Did They Like It, American Theatre Magazine, and Token Theatre Friends.

He is a Poynter Power of Diverse Voices and National Critics Institute Fellow, and the first Black man to serve on the nominating committee of the Drama Desk awards.
