Don’t miss these last-chance shows ending performances soon — get tickets now and catch a show before these musicals and plays are gone for good.

Don’t miss your chance to see hit Broadway shows before they're gone! Get tickets to Broadway shows closing soon on New York Theatre Guide. One thing that makes Broadway special is its liveness and impermanence, which means audiences get a unique experience they won't have again. But even the best Broadway shows have to close to make room for exciting new theatre, so be sure to get tickets to these closing Broadway productions that have people talking.

Most Broadway shows only play for a limited run, letting audiences know from the start that they only have a few months to attend. It's usually the case with plays, particularly celebrity-led ones, as well as theatre companies that program a season full of multiple shows each year. However, even successful Broadway musicals eventually come to an end. In April 2023, The Phantom of the Opera closed after a 35-year run that made it the longest-running Broadway show of all time. Lots of other long-runners are still going strong, but don't wait until it's too late!

You only have a short time to see these Broadway musicals and plays, so buy tickets to last-chance Broadway shows today. Discover Off-Broadway shows closing soon, too, and never miss a must-see show anywhere in the city. And if you've covered all the Broadway shows closing soon, check out all the current Broadway shows running and get tickets to see even more theatre.

Audiences are no longer required to present proof of vaccination at Broadway theatres, and mask-wearing is optional. Find out more about Broadway's latest Covid safety policies here.

Frequently asked questions

When does the Broadway season end?

Each Broadway season officially ends in late April; the date varies slightly year by year. The late-April end date is the last day shows can open in order to be considered for that June's Tony Awards. Any show that opens later will be considered part of the next Broadway season.

Which shows have limited Broadway runs?

Most Broadway plays have limited runs; one exception is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which has run in NYC since 2018. A limited run for a Broadway play averages around two to four months, but the run might extend if there is high demand. Most musicals, in contrast, have open-ended runs, playing as long as there is ticket demand.
