Women of Will to close one week early

The New York premiere of Tina Packer's Women of Will - an exploration of Shakespeare's canon - starring Tina Packer and Nigel Gore, and directed by Eric Tucker, will play its final performance Off-Broadway on 26 May 2013 - one week earlier than originally scheduled. When the show closes it will have played 6 previews and 80 regular performances.

Women of Will, produced by Sarah Hancock, opened at The Gym at Judson on 03 Feb 2013, following previews from 27 Jan 2013, and was originally scheduled to play through to 2 Jun 2013.

The early closing stems from a sudden scheduling conflict. Packer's Women of Will co-star, Nigel Gore, has been cast in the title role of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival's production of 'Macbeth', set to begin performances June 28th in Boulder, Colorado.

Tina Packer said,

While I'm heartbroken to see this portion of the Women of Will journey end earlier than initially planned, I'm thrilled for Nige's opportunity to play Macbeth, especially at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival - where this leg of Women of Will began last summer. Ending a week early is really the only option we have, as Sarah and I cannot imagine finishing our New York run without Nige.
The show explores the Bard's characters, focusing on the Women of Will, from Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing" to Viola in "Twelfth Night" and everyone in between, giving a fresh perspective on some of the most well-known classics in the English language.

Women of Will has previously played in Denver, Boston and at the Prague Shakespeare Festival.
