Why Torture Is Wrong... extends its run by one week
The Public Theater has extended its run of of Christopher Durang�s dark comedy Why Torture Is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them, by one week.
The play opened at the Public's Newman Theater on 6 Apr 2009, following previews from 24 Mar, for a limited engagement that was originally scheduled to close on 26 Apr 2009, but will now play through to 3 May 2009.

Why Torture Is Wrong...: Tells the story of a young woman suddenly in crisis: is her new husband, whom she married when drunk, a terrorist? Or just crazy? Or both? Is her father�s hobby of butterfly collecting really a cover for his involvement in a shadow government? Why does her mother enjoy going to the theatre so much? Does she seek mental escape, or is she insane?
Directed by Nicholas Martin, Why Torture Is Wrong... features Laura Benanti, Audrie Neenan, and Richard Poe join the previously announced Amir Arison, David Aaron Baker, Kristine Nielsen and John Pankow.
The comedy features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Gabriel Berry, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Drew Levy.
